hello there. welcome to noni’s place. noni has been my childhood nickname since forever in case you were wondering.
I was born and raised in a small town called Chepachet in the tiny, but oh-so-charming state of Rhode Island (think never-ending forests, quaint towns, beautiful coastlines, farms & fields galore). My love for food started early as my parents cooked and entertained often. I used to help with dinner parties at home, going out into the garden to pick flowers for the table and eagerly watching as dishes were being prepared. I had a couple of part-time jobs in the restaurant industry, one particularly memorable was as a server at a charming country breakfast place where I served up loaded omelettes, home fries and corned beef hash (I still love it to this day).
Food somehow always was a part of my journey. I lived in Chicago for a couple of years where I completed a M.S in communications from Northwestern University. I finally had my own kitchen all to myself and a Whole Foods right next door. I would invite friends over for weekend brunches and this is where my interest in food & entertaining grew swiftly. Later I moved to Dubai where I currently reside, a place where I met my husband and a place where I dove head first into the world of luxury fashion and worked in public relations & events (think fab red soles). While my closet was pretty incredible, I found myself seeking an inspiration that fed my soul just a bit more: in the kitchen and at the table. And from there noni’s place was born – a lifestyle & food site focused on accentuating the little pleasures in life from the home, to the kitchen to travel and better living.
noni’s place has wonderfully translated into various collaborations and projects including editorial work, food & prop styling, event curation, recipe development, content creation and hosting workshops.
I am an obsessed aesthete. It’s like an overload of the senses and I am constantly seeking a soulful approach to aesthetic inspiration from everything around me. I love to cook, entertain, gather, write, travel, DIY, design, style, (the list goes on) and just relish in the things I enjoy. My site aims to express what keeps me inspired and the little pleasures in life.
When I’m not meticulously planning my next dinner party or digging through an antique market, you can find me at the corner table of one of my favorite cafes sipping on a coffee.
